The app uses your email address to identify your booking record. If you’ve used social sign-in (such as Google, Apple, or Facebook) but that account does not share the same email address as the one you gave us when making your booking, you will need to log out and create an account with the same email you gave us when you booked. Make sure you have signed up for a Macs Adventure online account.
If you have found your booking but can’t see your map, please contact us.
We always recommend you use the most up to date version of the app, and that your phone operating system is up to date. One fix that often works is to delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store or Play Store (making sure you allow automatic updates). You can check for app updates by searching for Macs Adventure" in Google Play or the App Store. Once you locate the app, see if it has an "update" option highlighted. If the app is launching OK, but your navigation is not working, please check your GPS is switched on, and that you have allowed the app to access your location.
Navigate to My Bookings. You can do this on the menu under My Account > My Bookings, or you can use the rucksack icon at the bottom of your screen to navigate there quickly (next to the Home icon). Click on your booking under the list of upcoming bookings, and you can see your itinerary, map, traveller information, price information, documentation, and more.
We suggest you navigate to your itinerary and use the "Download Itinerary" option to save it on your phone (so that you don't need data coverage to look at it).
Alternatively to look at your itinerary on a computer screen (or print), log into your account on your browser to retrieve all of your booking documentation.
Go to "My account" then "My maps". Next, navigate to the individual daily stages and toggle "Download for Offline Mode". The app downloads the map into the app’s storage, not your device’s general storage, so you won't see the usual status notification to let you know a download has taken place. But, you will be able to see your maps if you use the app offline. You can put your phone onto “flight mode” to test this.
'When logged in you will see 'Upcoming Trips' click on your trip and you will be taken to your maps.
OR
Go to the menu under: "My account" → "My maps", or click directly on the map icon in the bottom bar.
Watch this short video for an overview of how to navigate around the app itself to find all the information you need, and navigate on your trip!
No! We now operate a completely new app which launched at the end of March 2022. The new app should have this icon (a dark blue background with the white "mountains" graphic). Please search on App Store or Play Store for the new app. Any old documentation with QR code links to the app can be ignored. You will find all you need by downloading the new app, and logging in!
We had a temporary issue with the app which caused some users to be unable to log in. Please delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store or Play Store (making sure you allow automatic updates) if you still cannot log in. This should also fix any issue with login using Facebook.
If this doesn't apply to your issue, please:
On some customised itineraries, you might only be able to see the "standard" set of maps for the tour. Don't worry, we will be in touch directly if you will need extra maps. A future release of the app will provide all customised daily maps automatically.
Our walks generally start and end at a central point in town (tourist information, church, bus stop, etc.). The route to your accommodation is not included in the daily kilometre indication.
In “My Itinerary” you will see your overnight accommodation listed. Click on “View Details” to see your accommodation name and address. If you then choose the “Get Directions” option, the app will take you into Mapbox online mapping to show you the route. Please note that Mapbox will choose the most direct walking route. This may not be the best, or safest, option so please compare this with the directions in your Itinerary document (sent to you by post, and available to download from the app using the “Download Itinerary” option.
Please be aware that this feature only works with an active mobile data connection.
