Grade & Terrain
We have graded this tour as challenging, with some days being easier and others more demanding. This trip is suitable for experienced mountain hikers. The routes are not technically difficult, but some paths follow narrow alpine paths, and it is important for your enjoyment of the tour to have a good head for heights, be sure-footed and not suffer from vertigo as some of the days will involve walking along narrow paths with steep drop offs.
Navigation
All of the walks are way-marked, and we provide you with turn-by-turn instructions for each walk, maps and access to our GPS smartphone navigation app, so you will have no problem finding your way.
Experience & Fitness
This is an alpine trip and therefore to get the most from this tour you should be in good physical shape, be sure-footed and have a head for heights as some sections can be steep and exposed.
Accommodation Information
We will accommodate you in selected 3–4-star hotels, in a double or single ensuite room. You will stay in a dormitory with a shared bathroom (sleeping bag liner required).
Due to Covid-19 health & safety regulations, the mountain hut requires all clients to bring their own sleeping bag and sleeping bag liner. Please bear this in mind when packing, as these items are essential.
All of our accommodations are hand-picked and offer a warm welcome to walkers. You will find an example of the accommodation we normally use on the itinerary. If these accommodations are not available, we will use a hotel of a similar of better standard than those described.
There are only a few accommodations in Trins and Obernberg where availability issues frequently arise during peak season. If this occurs, we will arrange a two night stay in Steinach am Brenner instead of Trins & Obernberg and arrange a transfer and provide information regarding the local bus to travel to the start or end of your walk. You can find more detailed information on this in your travel documents.
