Stevenson's Trail Walking Holiday
In September 1878, the young Scottish writer, Robert Louis Stevenson, departed on an epic trek which he immortalized in the classic book, ‘Travels with a Donkey in the Cévennes’. Follow in his footsteps on this fascinating journey through the remote and wild landscapes of France's south west and the Massif Central.
Immerse yourself in this region of charming small villages and hamlets, in areas so peaceful that even the singing of birds is a highlight as it is so well-defined. Walking through the eastern part of the Ardeche National Park and the Cevennes Mountains truly offers an exceptionally rare insight into the delights of hidden France. Enjoy the gastronomy of the region, truffles, local cheeses, olives, Cevennes honey and not forgetting the full-bodied local red wines.
