Today marks the 40th anniversary of the day the West Highland Way was officially opened to walkers. The West Highland Way is Scotland’s most famous long-distance trail and Macs Adventure’s most popular walking holiday.
Since 2003, we have helped thousands of walkers plan and enjoy the 96 mile journey from Milngavie to Fort William. To mark the 40th anniversary of the West Highland Way we’re sharing some of the best bits with #MacsMoment images our customers have shared with us throughout the years. It was hard to choose from all the images we're received, there have been many beautiful scenes and smiling faces...
The odd kilt...
Scenic resting spots...
Lots of air punching...
Many, many Highland Cows...
Finding the best places for a pint...
Refreshing dips in the water...
Scenic backdrops for reading notes...
and following the path surrounded by beauty...
Picture perfect images....
Unique snack stations...
We can't forget the whisky...
And of course the lovely group celebrations....
We really love receiving your images and seeing you enjoy your trips. Here's to another 40 years and people enjoying the West Highland Way.
