Hot Tubbing in the Highlands
On a cold winter’s day in February, I paid a visit to one of the 'in style' properties we use on our Scotland trips in Inverness, the Rocpool Reserve Hotel. As we had a special treat of an upgrade to an extra decadent room (standard rooms booked on our normal itineraries), complete with Arran Aromatics toiletries, a Tassimo machine and the best part of all, a hot tub and sauna room outside. After a lengthy drive from the west coast, this was a delightful treat on a cold winter’s day. Our hot tub!![/caption] After relaxing for a few hours in the hot tub, we headed for dinner. Shown in to the bar area, we looked over the delicious menu while enjoying a cocktail and canapes. We then headed through for dinner. A delicious 3 course meal, prepared by the finest chefs using the finest ingredients, went down an absolute treat. This included ox tongue and cheese soufflé starters, steak and a succulent chicken dish for mains. Followed by a trip of desserts and chocolates to top it all off. The following morning, the breakfast food served was of the same great quality and taste. This included fresh fruit and pastries as well as a delicious cooked breakfast and fresh fruit juice. All served to us by such helpful and nice staff. A 30 minute trip down Loch Ness with a visit around Urquhart castle really was a treat. And the guide we had really was fantastic providing us with lots of information on the drive in and around Inverness.
