The walks on this trip are shorter in the distance than our other Cotswolds tours and you will be staying in cosy and characterful inns and hotels to add that little bit of luxury. The shorter distances mean you can spend more time in each place and truly discover the authentic nature of the Cotswolds! Think Honey-coloured period buildings? Dinner in a cosy country pub? or an afternoon cream tea at a quaint English tearoom? Yes please!

A selection of the villages and towns you will visit on this trip are as follows:

Moreton-in-Marsh - One of the principal market towns of the Cotswolds with a high street full of independent shops, tearooms, restaurants and art galleries. 

Lower Slaughter - Despite its name Lower Slaughter's Copse Hill Road was voted the most romantic street in Britain. 

Winchcombe - A medieval market town full of unique architecture with a history-filled town centre and a Castle!*

Sudeley Castle (pictured below) remains the only private castle in England to have a Queen buried within its grounds. Queen Katherine Parr was the last and surviving wife of King Henry VIII and is said to be the first Queen to have a book published in her own name written in the English Language. The Castle Pantry offers a pit stop for walkers who fancy a snack without having to pay admission to the castle. (However, if you wish to visit the main Terrace Cafe admission is required.) On the way from Winchcombe to Broadway, you can also visit Hailes Abbey.  The tranquil ruins are a perfect place to stop and take a moment to imagine the lives of the monks who lived and studied in what was once a significant pilgrimage site. It was also mentioned in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. 

Stanway House is another highlight of this section and the Jacobean Manor House is famous for its 300 feet single-jet fountain. It's both the tallest in Britain and the highest gravity fountain in the world. The brewery within Stanway house has also been resurrected and is one of only two log-fired breweries in the country. You can't tour the brewery but you can try one of its beers in Crown & Trumpet pub in Broadway. 

Broadway - This village is often referred to as the 'jewel of the Cotswolds' and it's not hard to see why. On this trip, you will enjoy the views from the iconic Broadway Tower (pictured below) where you might even see some resident red deer.

Chipping Campden - Feeling creative? Why not explore some of the independent shops in this market town internationally known for its involvement in the arts and crafts movement? Why not take advantage of the slow nature of this trip and allow yourself time to stop and take some incredible pictures of the beauty all around you? 

And that's not all! You will also pass through some wonderfully idyllic villages including Stow on the Wold, Broad Campden, Stanton, Guiting Power, Naunton and Blockley.
