Grade & Terrain
This walking tour is graded Easy-Moderate. Walks are between 2-5 hours and there is an ascent/descent of between 130m to 500m each day. The paths can become slippy when wet but luckily this area experiences very little rain so that shouldn't happen too often!
However on the first two days you are free to explore the city of Seville at a leisurely pace and do as much or little walking as you like. As this is a self-guided walk you will be responsible for navigation, decision making and safety during your trip.
Navigation
You will be provided with detailed route maps to help you find your way. Some paths are part way-marked. You should ideally be competent at reading a map and navigating with a compass.
We also provide you with access to the Macs Adventure Smartphone App, which you can use to navigate. We strongly recommend using this App, or at least having it on your phone ready to use should you ever be in any doubt about your direction.
Accommodation Information
5 nights accommodation is included in your trip. 2 nights are in a stylish boutique hotel in the centre of Seville and 3 nights are in your own private self-catering stone cottage at the Molino Rio Alajar.
We can also extend your stay in either location should you have the time.
The cottages at Molino Rio Alajar also have access to a swimming pool on site as well as open-air chess, artificial grass tennis court, table tennis and boules. Bike hire is also available locally.
Please note that our standard cottages on this tour have double beds. If you wish to have twin beds, then a supplement is payable; please check with us at the time of booking.
Single Rooms & Solo Walkers
If you require single rooms within your party we would be happy to accommodate you although there is a single room supplement payable. Solo walkers are also welcome for an additional charge.
Meals
5 Breakfasts are included. In Seville you can dine at one of the many restaurants and at Molino Rio Alajar you can arrange to have your own fridge stocked (please let us know in advance; this is at an additional pre-paid cost) so that you can prepare your own meals with the kitchen facilities in your cottage. Alternatively, Peter Jan and his team will be happy to pre-book a table for you at Restaurant Las Palomitas , a short 1.5km distance away in Alajar.

Getting to the Start
On arrival in Seville Airport you can either take a taxi (approx. EUR21-30, dependent on time of day, and 15 mins duration) or a bus (30 mins, EUR4 each way) to the centre of the city (further information can be found on Seville Airport’s website).
Following your two nights in the city, you will need to take a bus from Seville to Aracena. Buses to Aracena take approx. 1h20 and the fare is around 7 euros. You will then be picked up from the bus station at Aracena and transferred to your accommodation near Alajar which takes a further approx. 35 minutes.
At the end of the tour you will be transferred back to Aracena, and will from there need to retrace the aforementioned steps to make your own way back to Seville and then on to the Airport. Or a private transfer is available at extra cost.
