Preparing for your Macs Adventure

Sometimes life gets in the way and, as your travels approach, you don't feel quite as organized as you had hoped! Pre-Departure Packet

Your Pre-Departure Packet should have everything you need for your trip. It should have arrived by mail at least 4 weeks prior to your departure date.

• Route notes/maps as relevant for your itinerary
• Guide book if required
• Accommodation list
• Trip Information Pack

Trip Information Pack

Your Trip Information Pack is your go to resource for all things specific to your trip! Make sure you read through the entire document to best prepare for your trip and take this with you on your Macs Adventure. 

Everything you'll find in your Trip Information Pack

• List of contacts and phone numbers while traveling
• Summary of inclusions
• Information on using our Macs App and digital route notes (if available for your itinerary)
• How luggage transfers work
• Alternatives if you can't walk a route
• Getting to the start location
• Getting back from the end location
• Packing list
• What to do in an emergency

Country Guide

Your Country Guide was sent via email, along with your Trip Information Pack and accommodation information. A copy of the Country Guide will also be included in your mailed Pre-Departure Packet which arrives at least 4 weeks before your trip.

Download the Macs Adventure App

If your information pack has advised you to download the app to follow your route notes, make sure you do so and follow these steps to load your daily routes to your smartphone or tablet device. Even if your route notes are not available on the new app yet, you can still download the app to benefit from rich, detailed mapping, and other features including the ability to record and share your routes, rate the trails, and share photographs. Let us know your travel plans

If you haven't done so already, please let us know any flight or other arrival/departure dates and times, so that we can update our accommodations or transport providers. Contact hello@macsadventure.com with this information.

Passport & visa requirements

If you are traveling overseas, now is the time to triple check that you have a valid passport and the correct visa for the destination you are visiting. 

Travel Insurance

Health advice

The CDC website has comprehensive health information for travel, general information on vaccinations and advice on staying safe in various countries. Check with your doctor if you have any concerns.
