This captivating self guided hike takes you through a region famed for its scenic splendor and extraordinary whisky heritage, home to nearly half of Scotland's 100+ whisky distilleries. Follow well-marked paths along the salmon-rich River Spey, through woodlands, heather-clad glens, and the stunning Cairngorm mountains. Visit iconic distilleries like Glenlivet and Glenfiddich, and experience whisky tastings of premium malts and blends that define Speyside’s reputation. Along the way, uncover stories of smuggler's trails and the area's intriguing whisky history. The trail begins in Craigellachie and winds through vibrant landscapes dotted with wildlife such as ospreys and the elusive capercaillie. Passing through the Glenlivet Estate, the trail concludes in Tomintoul, Scotland’s highest village.
