Dream Adventures for 2021

As passionate travel & adventure enthusiasts, we've missed the opportunity to expand our horizons and get on the trails in the last year. But we are looking forward with hope and anticipation for the months and years ahead, and now is the time for some dreaming and planning!

We asked our team where their daydreams are right now, which mountains are calling, which landscapes do they dream of, and which trail are they putting to the top of the list...

Alex Zewe - Chief Adventure Officer (Germany)

Coast to Coast, England

Alex

An epic trail, I fell in love with when I launched it on the Abenteuer Wege (our German) website in 2015. I love all things British, and especially Northern England, its unbelievable landscape with 3 oh-so-different National Parks, the coziest pubs and of course the challenge of this quite tough walk!

Best of the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland

Just read through the image highlights for this trip - no explanation is needed! It also has amazing accommodations, a choice of walks, and of course the opportunity to eat endless amounts of fondue!

California Coast: Half Moon Bay to San Francisco

These trails are about an hour's drive from where I grew up, and I think there is something so beautiful in experiencing your hometown in new ways. A trail will never be the same if you are taking it in it with a fresh perspective.

Marrakech and the High Atlas in Style

I have never been to to Morocco. The different types of accommodations appeal to me and the combination of city and mountains. Also I have heard how warm and friendly the people are. I was booked to go on it in 2020, but obviously had to cancel, so this is my dream next trip!

Alaska: Explore the Kenai Peninsula

Where to begin! The vast wilderness, the mountains, icebergs & glaciers - Harding Icefield & Exit Glacier! Of course, there’s the hope of seeing grizzly bears & orcas. My mouth waters at the thought of the fresh fish especially in Homer – halibut fishing capital of the world.

Walker's Haute Route

I would love to get walk the Walkers Haute Route, there are just so many things about it which put it on the top of my list, the views, staying in mountain huts, delicious food and at times, "type 2 fun" (when the level of challenge means that you don't realise quite what incredible fun you've had until you look back!), which make it even more rewarding.

A Norwegian Adventure: Sognefjord and Lofoten Islands

I would love to combine the two trips! That way I would see the parts of Norway that I have unfortunately missed so far. Pure nature, untouched, breath-taking beauty, impressive Fjords... Also, the Scandinavian calmness and the lifestyle in general simply does it for me.

I've just always wanted to go to Ecuador! This is a great combination of spectacular landscapes and a way to experience Ecuadorian culture.
