Meet our first global brand ambassador! The Hebridean Baker

Were delighted to announce that the Hebridean Baker, Coinneach MacLeod, is joining us in championing self-guided as the best way to travel. And with a passion for slow travel, Coinneach is the perfect advocate for our Slower Adventures trips.

Coinneach MacLeod, the Hebridean Baker

What will Coinneach do as a Macs Adventure global brand ambassador?

Coinneach will be a voice for self-guided travel and why it’s the best way to explore the world. He’ll also be highlighting the importance of responsible travel and the health benefits associated with being in the outdoors.

Coinneach MacLeod, the Hebridean Baker

Who is the Hebridean Baker?

Coinneach was born and raised on the Isle of Lewis, the most northerly of the Outer Hebrides. He’s become synonymous with the outdoors and adventure since he started posting videos of his homeland.

He’s been Scotland’s best-selling cookbook author for the past two years and his online videos (watched by over 25 million people) have inspired millions around the world to bake, visit Scotland, learn Gaelic, enjoy a dram or two of whisky and seek a more wholesome, simple life. Coinneach, who has featured on BBC’s The Travel Show, aims to bring the best of Scotland to a worldwide audience.

Coinneach has also been gracing our screens with a three-week residency on the ITV daytime show This Morning since 9th February 2023. He’ll be transporting viewers to the stunning windswept coasts of the Outer Hebrides and whipping up some of his staple bakes.

Speaking of his role as global brand ambassador, Coinneach said:

‘I’m very proud to be representing Macs Adventure. It’s important to me that they support local businesses and keep tourism money local.

I’m looking forward to highlighting self-guided active travel and how it offers a better way to experience new cultures. For me, it gives you the freedom to explore the world at your own pace, with no need to worry about being fit enough to keep up with a group.

What’s also appealing about Macs Adventure is that they have different trip types to suit everybody, from beginner to experts. I love their Slower Adventures as they cover fewer miles each day and make active holidays a possibility for those who might feel intimidated by walking or cycling long distances. These trips are ideal for people who want to soak up the local culture, food and drink, whilst still getting about under their own steam.’

Later this year Coinneach is embarking on two enlightening adventures through Scotland and Scandanavia, chosen by his social media followers.
He’ll have the freedom to explore their diverse cultures and the ever-changing landscapes at his own pace (one of the benefits of a self-guided trip). He’ll be tucking into local cuisines and rustling up some yummy bakes inspired by flavours and ingredients found along the way.
His followers will then be given the opportunity to follow in his footsteps and win the adventure that Coinneach has experienced.

2023 has already marked a great start to the year for all of us at Macs Adventure and our founder Neil Lapping is excited to officially partner with Coinneach.

‘We're absolutely delighted to announce Coinneach as our first global brand ambassador. He has inspired so many people to explore and discover the outdoors and his purpose and values align perfectly with ours. We can’t wait to introduce him to our customers across the UK, Europe, North America and beyond.’
