Availability

This trip is available to start on any day of the week from the beginning of April to the end of October. Please note that the summer months can be very hot for walking and we recommend that you take a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water if you decide to walk during these months. This tour does not run from the end of July to the end of August as this is when the area is the hottest and also the most difficult time to secure availability at the hotels.

Peak season availability: Please note that July and September are extremely busy times along the Amalfi Coast and early booking is essential (ideally 6 months in advance) in order to secure the best choice accommodation. If you are interested in travelling during these months, then we may require some flexibility regarding your dates and itinerary. We will do our best to provide a suitable alternative in line with our usual tour. In the instance that our usual accommodation is not available, a supplement will be payable. Thank you for your cooperation.

Time of Year

Spring in the Amalfi Coast is sublime and April, May and June are absolutely lovely. Autumn is probably a favourite time of year as the landscape is made up of a gold and red pallet so September and October are unmissable.

Grade & Terrain

This holiday is graded moderate because although the daily walks are relatively short the terrain is hilly and summer temperatures can be high. Most of the route follows dirt tracks and footpath although you will be following minor roads occasionally. Be warned that some of the walks involve lots of steps and steep climbs.

Navigation, Route Notes & Maps

The route is not well way-marked. We provide access to the Macs Adventure Smartphone App upon which you can follow the route notes and downloaded GPS tracks on your phone.

Travel Insurance

It is a requirement of booking this tour with Macs Adventure that you have suitable travel insurance which covers you for the activity and emergency evacuation and hospital care.

Getting to Amalfi

We recommend that you fly to info Naples Airport as this is the closest to the Amalfi Coast. From there you can take a Curreri bus from outside the terminal to Sorrento which takes 1H15.

From Sorrento take a SITA bus to Amalfi which takes around 1H40.  Alternatively, we can arrange private transfers at an additional cost.
