Grade & Terrain

This cycle tour is graded moderate, as you will be cycling 34-42 km each day, with a couple of more challenging sections.  You should be a regular cyclist and have a good level of fitness to make the most out of this tour. You will cycle on a combination of small roads and dirt tracks (not cycle paths/green ways). Cycling is on around 60% paved roads and 40% on trails. The paths are not technically difficult. A key aim is that you’ll cycle always with as little traffic as possible. As you enter the larger towns and Barcelona you will find the route busier and may have to occasionally cycle on larger roads where unavoidable.

Navigation

We supply you with with a GPS unit which is loaded with the tracks, so you will be able to easily follow the route.  You will be provided with daily maps and information about the area. You will have a welcome meeting with a local guide on arrival at your first hotel, and they will be able to show you how to use the GPS unit and are there to talk you through the route and assist you with any questions you may have.

Accommodation Information

6 Nights accommodation is included in your trip, in rooms with a private bathroom. The hand-picked hotels featured on this tour offer great value and a warm welcome to cyclists—you’ll be staying in some truly unique properties, including a 14th century Catalan house, Monastery building and a modernist B&B. The accommodation we normally use is detailed in the itinerary however is subject to availability at the time of booking; alternative properties of the same or better standard may be offered.

You can add extra nights at any time during your trip, and we recommend in particular that you consider extending your stay by a few days in Barcelona. We can book you extra nights or you can opt for a 1 or 2 night extension to explore further by bike.
