The Canary Islands, whilst belonging to Spain, actually lie off the north-western coast of Africa, and offer an exciting hiking adventure and this tour takes in two of them! Starting in Tenerife, walk through the diverse landscapes of the amazing Anaga Biosphere Reserve, which include atmospheric laurel forests, rugged cliffs and the quaintest of tiny mountain villages. As a contrast to the lush landscapes in the north, continue to the bizarre lunar landscapes of the Cañadas del Teide National Park, where Mount Teide sits dominant. Hop by ferry over to the tropical island of La Gomera, where you explore the cloud forests of Garajonay National Park, dramatic rocky outcrops and verdant gorges. With overnight stays in a small hotel in a UNESCO World Heritage city, San Cristobal de la Laguna, and two unique Parador hotels, this tour allows you to experience the very best of Canary Island charm!
