Activity Level & Terrain
This walk is graded moderate to difficult with walks around 8 km/5 miles each day. There are sections with steep ascents and descents with rock steps and metal or wooden stairs with handrails. You can also expect dirt and rock paths interspersed with sandstone steps, rock ledges and overhangs, small bridges and stepping stone creek crossings.
Navigation
As this is a self-guided walk you will be responsible for navigation, decision making and safety during your trip. You should be able to navigate easily with a map and compass. We supply you with route notes for the recommended routes, as well as access to our smartphone navigation app along with GPX tracks, so you will have no problem following the route each day.Accommodations
You will stay in guesthouses along the way at both Blackheath and Katoomba. In Blackheath, you will stay in a 3-star guesthouse built in the 1900s. Your last two nights, in Katoomba, will be spent at a beautifully restored 1920s mountain home.

Single sleeping arrangements can be organized but please note this trip is not available to solo travelers.
